Shani Francis, MD, MBA
Dr. Francis is a board certified dermatologist with personal interests in clinical research, skin cancer, hair loss, health care disparities, holistic dermatology, and health delivery systems. Dr. Francis holds appointments on the American Academy of Dermatology National Performance Measurement Committee and Advisory Board. She currently volunteers with the Skin Cancer Foundation and loves being an integral part of the Destination Healthy Skin tour. Her diverse background spans biochemical engineering, nanotechnology, healthcare quality and patient safety, product development, medical cannabis, and NASA research!
Dr. Francis is a graduate of Wake Forest Medical School, earned an MBA from Auburn University and completed internship and residency at The University of Chicago Hospitals, where she served as chief resident. She is currently the Chief Wellness Officer and Medical Director of Ashira Dermatology and the Vice President of Research and Development at Ashira Industries where she leads efforts to bring innovative, new solutions to dermatologic diseases that have significant impact on quality of life.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, painting, traveling, and spending quality family time with her husband and children. Her lifetime goal is to travel to every continent; she has currently traveled to 4 continents, but hopes to broaden this in the near future.
