MedEd Science Solutions is committed to supporting early-career clinicians and researchers. Students and medical residents may submit abstracts and poster presentations without a submission fee.

To Qualify:

  • The submitting author must be a current student or medical resident
  • Institutional affiliation must be provided at the time of submission
  • Submissions are subject to the same review standards as all other content

Eligible students and residents will be provided with a submission link after verification of status.

MedEd Science Solutions AbstractConnect™ Submission Guidelines

AbstractConnect™ is a digital platform designed to extend the visibility and lifespan of scientific content beyond the conference setting. Submissions are hosted online in a searchable, professionally curated environment and may optionally be included in select conference materials.

ELIGIBLE SUBMISSION TYPES

Abstracts (Digital Hosting)

Scientific abstracts intended for online viewing and search. Abstracts may be associated with a poster, video, or audio presentation.

Posters

Scientific posters presented as PDF or slide-based files. Posters may be uploaded independently or paired with an abstract.

Poster Video or Audio Presentations

Narrated poster presentations delivered as video or audio to enhance engagement and provide expert context.

Optional Print Abstracts

Select abstracts may be submitted for print inclusion in conference folders or attendee bags, when applicable.

GENERAL SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Submissions must be scientific, educational, and non-promotional. All content must comply with applicable medical, regulatory, and ethical standards. Trade names for drugs, devices, or products should be avoided. Financial disclosures and conflicts of interest must be clearly stated.

ABSTRACT FORMAT GUIDELINES

  • File format: PDF
  • Word limit: 300–500 words (excluding title and author information)
  • Font: Arial, 11–12 point
  • Spacing: Single-spaced
  • Margins: 1 inch on all sides

  • Methods or Study Design
  • Results or Key Findings
  • Conclusions or Clinical Relevance

POSTER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  • File format: PDF (PowerPoint will be accepted in video format)
  • Orientation: Portrait or landscape accepted
  • Resolution: High-resolution for digital viewing
  • Content: Clearly labeled sections, figures, and references

POSTER VIDEO & AUDIO PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

  • Accepted formats: Video: MP4 | Audio: MP3
  • Recommended length: 3–7 minutes

DIGITAL FILE SIZE REQUIREMENTS

To ensure optimal website performance and fast loading for all users, submitted files must adhere to the following size limits:

  • Abstract PDFs: Maximum file size 5 MB
  • Poster PDFs: Maximum file size 15 MB
  • Combined abstract/poster files: Maximum file size 15 MB

Files exceeding these limits may be returned to the submitting author for optimization prior to acceptance.

POSTER VIDEO & AUDIO-ONLY VIDEO PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS

Poster presentations may be submitted as either a full video presentation or an audio-only video presentation. All video content will be hosted via Vimeo and embedded on the AbstractConnect platform to ensure optimal playback and website performance.

Accepted Formats

  • Video: MP4 (H.264 codec recommended)
    • Full video presentation (speaker on screen, slides, or narrated poster)
    • Audio-only video presentation using a static image (e.g., poster image or title slide)

Video & Audio Specifications

  • Video resolution: 720p or 1080p
  • Aspect ratio: 16:9
  • Frame rate: 24–30 fps
  • Audio: Clear narration with minimal background noise

Recommended Duration

3–7 minutes per presentation

Presentation Notes

  • Audio-only video submissions do not require motion video and may include a single static visual
  • Presentations should align with the associated abstract or poster content
  • Files should be optimized for online streaming and professional presentation quality

AUTHOR & DISCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS

Each submission must include full author list and affiliations, identification of presenting author, conflict of interest disclosures, and acknowledgment of financial or material support.

SUBMISSION PROCESS

All submissions must be uploaded through the AbstractConnect™ online submission portal. Each submission will receive an email confirmation.

OPTIONAL CONFERENCE PRINT INCLUSION

Select abstracts may be eligible for print placement in conference folders or attendee bags. Print submissions must be provided as 8.5″ x 11″ PDFs. Print inclusion is optional and subject to availability and additional fees.

REVIEW & ACCEPTANCE

Submissions are reviewed for scientific quality, educational value, and compliance. Accepted content may be digitally hosted, featured in curated collections, or eligible for enhanced placement options.
